Les abonnés du journal suédois Aftonbladet ont élu la Thaïlande comme la meilleure destination balnéaire hors d’Europe pour 2009, selon le bureau de l’Autorité du tourisme de Thaïlande à Stockholm.
Lors de la sixième enquête annuelle du journal, 31,3 % des 30 093 abonnés ont voté pour la Thaïlande. Les seconds sont le Brésil, la Malaisie, la République dominicaine, la Floride et les îles Canaries.
Ils ont également placé Bangkok au sixième rang des villes les plus attrayantes à visiter, après New York, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco et Miami.
